Jaipur, Sep 27 (NationPress) Rajasthan's Minister of State for Home Affairs, Jawahar Singh Bedham, asserted on Saturday that individuals who take the law into their own hands or partake in criminal behavior will face rigorous legal repercussions.
Addressing reporters in Alwar, the Minister firmly stated, "No one is above the law," in response to inquiries regarding the apprehension of Ladakhi social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was transferred to Rajasthan under heavy security and is now detained in Jodhpur Central Jail.
Bedham emphasized that the law is impartial and applies to all, reaffirming the state government's dedication to maintaining order and justice.
He criticized the former Congress government, claiming it failed to manage crime effectively in Rajasthan. "During the previous Congress administration, crime rates soared. Homicides, thefts, and sexual assaults became commonplace, leading Rajasthan to descend into a 'Jungle Raj'," he noted.
According to Bedham, since the BJP took control in Rajasthan, there has been a notable improvement in the law and order situation.
He pointed out that incidents of violence against women, as well as Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, have diminished, with police demonstrating enhanced effectiveness in combating crime.
Addressing emerging threats, Bedham expressed alarm at the swift escalation of cybercrime.
He mentioned that police are not only responding vigorously but also educating the public to avert online scams. "Specialized police personnel have been assigned, and dedicated cyber police stations have been established in the state," he added.
Furthermore, he confirmed that officers at the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) level are being appointed to these stations for stricter oversight.
Bedham noted that these initiatives have already led to a reduction in cyber fraud incidents.
Reiterating his government's pledge to safeguard the public, he stated that Rajasthan is experiencing enhanced law and order under the current BJP-led administration.
He stressed that whether dealing with traditional crimes or contemporary cyber threats, the state government is fully prepared to act decisively and justly to guarantee security and justice for all.
