Rajnath Singh Emphasizes Global Unity in Light of Ongoing Security Challenges

New Delhi, Jan 10 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday emphasized the necessity for greater unity within the global community due to the current security landscape, which he described as being unstable with various conflicts and challenges.

During his speech at the Ambassadors' Round-Table, held as a precursor to Aero India 2025, the Defence Minister highlighted the importance of overcoming existing geopolitical tensions to secure mutual prosperity and global peace.

"It is of utmost importance that like-minded nations work collaboratively for collective endeavors aiming at peace and prosperity. If we fail to do so, future generations may miss out on the economic growth and technological advancements that we are currently enjoying," he told the attending Ambassadors and High Commissioners from various nations.

This 15th edition of Aero India is set to take place at Air Force Station, Yelahanka in Bengaluru, Karnataka from February 10 to 14, 2025.

The five-day event will feature a range of activities including a curtain-raiser event, inaugural ceremony, Defence Ministers' Conclave, CEOs' Round-Table, iDEX start-up event, spectacular air shows, and a vast exhibition area featuring an India Pavilion alongside a trade fair for aerospace firms. The overarching theme is 'The Runway to a Billion Opportunities'.

In his address, the Defence Minister pointed out that India is emerging as a prominent voice for the Global South and promotes a multi-aligned policy approach that accommodates diverse perspectives in the collective quest for prosperity.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has articulated India's commitment to tackling global challenges through five guiding principles: Respect, Dialogue, Cooperation, Peace & Prosperity. In the current geopolitical climate, fostering unity among like-minded nations is critical for ensuring mutual prosperity and peace while addressing contemporary challenges," he stated.

"India has consistently championed shared prosperity and responsibility based on the fundamental principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, meaning 'One Earth, One Family', which was also the theme for the G-20 Summit in 2023," he added.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described Aero India, Asia's largest aero show, as a platform where nations unite and forge connections beyond borders.

Expounding on the vision behind the biennial event, he noted its success as a meeting point for the aerospace and defence sectors to display their products and technologies.

He characterized it as a forum to cultivate strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing business opportunities, technology transfer, joint development, and co-production among various industries.

The first three days of Aero India (February 10, 11, and 12) will be designated as business days, whereas February 13 and 14 will be open to the public, allowing attendees to experience the event.

This event will offer a platform for building partnerships between foreign and Indian enterprises and discovering new pathways in the global value chain to expedite the indigenization process.

Aero India attracts numerous exhibitors from leading global industries in the aerospace and defence sectors.

It provides a unique opportunity for the industry to showcase their capabilities, products, and services to a targeted audience. The biennial event acts as a venue for industry leaders to connect and shape the future of the aerospace and defence sectors.
