Hyderabad, Jan 29 (NationPress) Telangana Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Wednesday questioned Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao regarding his absence from Assembly sessions. He inquired if Rao intended to resign and transfer the position of Leader of the Opposition to another person.

The minister also retaliated against BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao, following Rao's criticism during the Rythu Maha Dharma in Nalgonda. He informed reporters that KTR, as he is commonly referred to, lacks the moral authority to critique him.

"KTR is entangled in cases like Formula-E and Dharani. I do not have any allegations against me," stated the minister. He went on to mention that he had previously sacrificed his ministerial role for the sake of the Telangana movement.

"KTR is merely an MLA. He does not even hold the title of Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly. His position as an MLA was granted due to his father. I need not address his criticisms," added Venkat Reddy.

The Congress leader expressed his intention to respond to K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) specifically, questioning KCR's absence from the Assembly.

"You possess 30 MLAs yet remain absent from Assembly sessions. Will you participate in the next session or resign as Leader of the Opposition, thus assigning the role to KTR or Harish Rao?" asked Venkat Reddy. He quipped that the "BRS shop is half-closed." "The party faced a complete loss in the Lok Sabha elections and forfeited its deposit in eight out of sixteen seats contested," he added.

In response to Venkat Reddy during a protest in Nalgonda on Tuesday, KTR had challenged him to a public debate regarding Nalgonda's development. The BRS leader accused Congress of neglecting long-standing issues, such as the fluoride crisis in Nalgonda. He further criticized the Congress government for overlooking the district's IT sector and claimed that the IT Tower, built by the previous BRS administration, has become a refuge for anti-social elements, including alcoholics, under the current rule.

The minister countered by stating that KTR was obstructing the Musi River rejuvenation project. He also condemned BJP leaders for opposing the Musi initiative. "The Musi River is in significant danger compared to the Yamuna. The BJP has declared in its election manifesto that if it comes to power in Delhi, it will cleanse the Yamuna river. However, in Telangana, Central ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay are impeding efforts to clean the Musi," the minister remarked.
