Bhopal/Ujjain, April 9 (NationPress) A critical rescue mission is in progress in Jhalariya village, located in Badnagar, Ujjain district, where a three-year-old boy has fallen into a borewell, trapped at an approximate depth of 60 feet.

The unfortunate event took place when the child, known as Bhagirath, was accompanying his family who had arrived in the area three days prior for sheep grazing, and he inadvertently slipped into the exposed borewell.

Upon notification, the local authorities swiftly mobilized their resources. Bhagirath (3) is the son of Praveen Dewasi, a resident of Guranala, District Pali in Rajasthan. The family had been camping in the vicinity to tend to their sheep, and while playing, the child fell into the open borehole on Paldoona Road.

A camera has been lowered into the borewell to provide continuous monitoring of the child's situation, and efforts are being made to establish communication with him. Local residents are actively supporting the rescue operation.

High-ranking officials, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Sub-Divisional Police Officer, have arrived at the scene, accompanied by police and rescue personnel. Collector Roshan Kumar Singh and Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma have also rushed to the site to oversee the rescue efforts.

Specialized rescue teams are tirelessly working, employing equipment to ensure the safe retrieval of the child. Concurrently, a parallel pit is being excavated next to the borewell to reach Bhagirath without adding further risk.

The incident has deeply affected the local community, with numerous individuals gathering at the site. Villagers are praying and providing support to the rescue teams. Authorities have inserted a camera into the borehole to keep track of the child's condition and attempt communication.

While the exact health status of the child remains unconfirmed, officials are optimistic and are taking every necessary precaution to ensure safety. Collector Singh remarked that the rescue operation is being conducted with the utmost caution, considering the depth and narrow confines of the borewell.

He highlighted that specialized equipment is being utilized to reduce risks during the operation.
