The arrest was executed by the Cyber Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB).
Post-retirement, Kumar has been involved in agriculture in his home region.
Authorities revealed that Kumar posted an objectionable message on his Facebook page, titled 'Hanuma Bhakta'.
His post was a reaction to Siddaramaiah's recent inquiry to President Droupadi Murmu during an event in Mysuru, questioning her familiarity with the Kannada language. The accused reportedly responded with abusive language towards the Chief Minister.
The police initiated a suo motu case and subsequently arrested him.
During his speech at the inaugural event of the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH)'s 'Diamond Jubilee Celebrations' in Mysuru on September 1, Siddaramaiah posed the question to President Murmu regarding her knowledge of Kannada.
