Mysuru, May 6 (NationPress) The Karnataka Police Department has suspended a jail warden for his abusive video targeting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who allegedly raised his hand at a senior police officer during a Congress convention.
The official identified the suspended jail warden as H.N. Madhu Kumar (45), a former army personnel currently serving as a warder at Mysuru Central Prison.
Superintendent of Mysuru Central Prison, B.S. Ramesh, conducted an inquiry that led to the suspension order.
A comprehensive investigation against Madhu Kumar has been initiated by the Police Department, with a preliminary probe revealing that the contentious video was created on April 28.
In the video, Madhu Kumar vehemently criticized the Chief Minister’s alleged action of “raising his hand” at Additional Superintendent of Police Narayan Bharamani during the Congress event in Belagavi.
Siddaramaiah reportedly lost his temper after BJP women workers disrupted the event, following his statement that ‘India doesn’t need war with Pakistan’.
Using offensive language, Madhu Kumar asserted that police officers serve the state for 35 years, while politicians are elected by public favor for only five years.
He further admonished Siddaramaiah, arguing that as a lawyer and the state leader, he should have exercised greater restraint when addressing the Additional SP.
He added that the Karnataka Police are not Siddaramaiah’s subordinates and accused the Chief Minister of “losing respect” due to his conduct.
The suspended warden also made inappropriate comments regarding the untimely demise of Siddaramaiah’s elder son, Rakesh Siddaramaiah, and commented on the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam, where Siddaramaiah is implicated.
He questioned the delays in police salary payments and criticized the law and order situation in Mysuru, referencing a recent attack on a police station.
Madhu Kumar has been suspended under the Karnataka Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 2021. Meanwhile, the Congress party's Mysuru unit has lodged a complaint with the DCP (Law and Order), requesting the police to file an FIR against him.
Madhu Kumar holds a position equivalent to that of a police constable and has been serving at Mysuru Central Prison.
On Tuesday morning, Congress party workers protested outside Mysuru Central Prison. Mysuru is the native district of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
