RJD MLA Claims Temples Foster Ignorance While Schools Encourage Reason

Patna, Dec 16 (NationPress) Renowned for his provocative remarks, RJD MLA Fateh Bahadur Singh has stirred up controversy once more, asserting that temples encourage ignorance, while schools foster rational thought.
“In today’s society, parents face two choices: send their children to temples or schools. The former breed superstition, hypocrisy, and ignorance, whereas the latter promote rational knowledge, scientific understanding, and personal growth. It is crucial to decide where we want to guide our children,” stated the RJD MLA during a recognition ceremony at a technical institution in Deoria village, located in Dehri.
He expressed disapproval of the role of temples, alleging that they propagate superstition.
Previously, the RJD MLA claimed to be a descendant of Mahisasur, a character from Hindu lore.
Singh further ignited controversy with his comments about religion, caste, and social structure, drawing inspiration from the influential social reformer Savitribai Phule.
He also addressed sensitive topics concerning caste systems and religious customs, which have historically elicited strong reactions.
Singh emphasized that his views were not personal but rather derived from the teachings of Savitribai Phule, a key figure in India’s social reform movement.
“Most of us have not been identified as Hindus in any Hindu scriptures; instead, we are labeled as Shudras. Those adhering to Brahmanism were designated as Kshatriyas, those serving them became Vaishyas, and those opposing them were similarly categorized as Shudras. Nevertheless, humanity should prevail, emphasizing that all humans are equal,” declared the MLA.
His statements resonate with the ideological perspective of social justice, challenging caste systems and advocating for equality and humanism over rigid societal classifications.
