RJD MLA Mukesh Roshan Will Respect Party's Choice on Mahua Assembly Seat

Patna, Dec 9 (NationPress) The RJD MLA for Mahua, Mukesh Roshan, announced on Monday his commitment to accept the party's decision regarding the Mahua assembly seat. This comes after Tej Pratap Yadav, the eldest son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, indicated his desire to contest from Mahua instead of Hasanpur.

“I will comply with any decision made by the party. However, if I am overlooked, I will reconsider my political career and possibly return to my medical profession,” Roshan expressed.

Previously, Tej Pratap Yadav highlighted his contributions to the development of Mahua, such as constructing roads and hospitals, as motivations for his interest in this constituency. His comments reflect a deep personal commitment and legacy within the Mahua area.

In the 2020 elections, the decision to move Tej Pratap Yadav from Mahua to Hasanpur was influenced by the potential challenge from his estranged wife, Aishwarya Rai, who was rumored to contest from Mahua.

This situation prompted the RJD leadership to adopt a “safe seat” strategy, allowing Tej Pratap to avoid a direct contest with Aishwarya and secure his position in the assembly.

Mukesh Roshan was selected as a compromise candidate for Mahua during this politically turbulent period. His candidacy enabled the RJD to uphold its influence in the constituency while managing familial conflict.

With no current indications of Aishwarya Rai running, Tej Pratap now seems eager to reclaim Mahua, a seat that likely holds both personal and political significance for him due to his prior contributions.
