RJD Intensifies Political Assault on BJP with Controversial Patna Poster
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, March 14 (NationPress) On Saturday, the leaders of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) intensified their political confrontation against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by unveiling a provocative poster in Patna.
This poster was orchestrated by Arun Kumar, the party's state general secretary, alongside Nasima Jalal, who heads the minority wing of the RJD.
In the imagery presented by RJD leaders, the BJP was metaphorically depicted as a python, implying that the party aims to “consume” the Chief Minister’s position in Bihar and undermine its ally, the Janata Dal-United (JD-U).
The RJD representatives argued that since 2014, the BJP has not only sought to challenge opposition parties but has also incrementally diminished the political space available to its coalition partners.
To underscore their allegations, RJD activists incorporated the slogan: “There is no ally whom the BJP has not deceived.”
The visual message aimed to criticize what the RJD claims is the BJP’s tactic of consolidating political power at the expense of its allies.
In response to the poster, RJD spokesperson Ejaz Ahmed accused the BJP of prioritizing power struggles over addressing public concerns.
“The BJP’s policies are evident here. Within the NDA, there is a competition among leaders for the Chief Minister position. The BJP is attempting to seize the Chief Minister’s chair. BJP leaders are neglecting issues that affect the common people; their sole focus is on obtaining the Chief Minister’s role,” Ahmed stated.
This poster initiative arrives amidst escalating political speculation in Bihar about leadership within the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
The RJD has consistently charged the BJP with attempting to assert its supremacy within the alliance and potentially marginalizing its partners.
Nonetheless, officials from both the BJP and JD-U have previously dismissed these claims, asserting that the alliance remains intact.
