At the time, Sanjeev Kumar was present at home when six individuals clad in police uniforms approached, brandishing sticks and pistols. They falsely identified themselves as police officers and informed him of a warrant issued against him from the Chakai police station.
As soon as Sanjeev opened the door, the imposters forcefully entered and commenced a search of the premises. They looted his daughter’s wedding jewellery alongside his wife's jewellery.
The assailants also threatened to take Sanjeev to the Chakai police station before escaping in a vehicle. Victim Sanjeev Kumar shared with the media that the stolen jewellery was intended for his daughter’s upcoming wedding, leaving his family in a state of devastation.
Following the report, the Simratala police team arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. They are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity, which has captured images of the robbers' vehicle.
Station in-charge Dhananjay Kumar stated that the case is being thoroughly investigated from all angles, expressing confidence that the culprits will soon be identified and apprehended. The police have committed to making every possible effort to locate and arrest those responsible.
This brazen incident has fostered a climate of fear in the community. Local residents have emerged from their homes in shock, demanding increased police presence and immediate security reinforcements.
Many villagers voiced that the audacity of criminals committing such acts in broad daylight showcases their growing fearlessness. Despite the establishment of the new NDA government and Samrat Chaudhary assuming office as Bihar’s Home Minister, incidents of crime appear to persist without abating.
