New Delhi, March 21 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the RSS for its contributions to social welfare. A newly released document commemorating the organization’s centenary emphasizes its accomplishments in various sectors such as housing for tribal communities, drug de-addiction, school admissions, cow protection, and initiatives against single-use plastic.

The annual report for 2024-25, unveiled during the ongoing Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha in Bengaluru, outlines the 'Society Oriented Activities' undertaken, which includes welfare measures in Haryana, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Central India.

In Andhra Pradesh, the organization arranged cataract surgeries and provided educational support for the children of laborers, according to the report.

The Vyavasayi Shakha of Gondupalem, located in the Anakapalle District of Visakha Vibhag, also conducted medical check-ups for 157 underprivileged individuals and enhanced a crematorium for public use, welcoming all castes.

The report mentions that in Telangana, the Shri Neelkantheshwar Vyavasayi Shakha of Indur Nagar identified a community of nomadic tribes and took initiatives including the repair of their sewage system.

During the monsoon season, they arranged alternative housing and food provisions while also working to supply electricity to homes. A temple dedicated to Sammakka Saralamma, the revered local forest deities, was constructed, as stated in the report.

This initiative has deepened their commitment to Hinduism, with a house-to-house Hanuman Chalisa recitation program organized in the area, the report indicated.

In Malva, the Birsa Munda Shakha of Amkhut village in Katthiwada block of Alirajpur district undertook the restoration of an ancient Gotar Mata temple situated in a stone cave atop a mountain in Mandar village. This effort has raised faith awareness among villagers, leading many to return to Hinduism.

In Madhya Bharat, the 56 selected 'Vyavasayi Shakhas' across all 29 blocks of the 'Vidisha Vibhag' conducted a comprehensive social survey to identify local issues and began meaningful interventions.

The Jagran Toli of these shakhas pinpointed various challenges and devised plans for resolutions with the community's support and collaboration with various organizations.

Members were designated as guardians of the shakhas, identifying 103 distinct issues, including drug addiction, low school attendance, cow protection, safeguarding the Narmada, addressing single-use plastic, and concerns around love jihad.

On the topic of cattle management and cow protection efforts nationally, the report mentions that 1,144 training sessions were conducted at various levels, attracting 31,626 participants.

Additionally, 74,468 households were engaged in caring for 187,466 cows, with 11,640 cow shelters actively operational.

Moreover, 21,469 farmers were involved in practicing cow-based agriculture across 67,932 acres, and approximately 17,767 families are now engaged in rooftop gardening, the report disclosed.

Recently, during a podcast with AI researcher and podcaster Lex Fridman, PM Modi shared how the RSS has significantly influenced his life. He remarked, 'Through the RSS, I discovered a purpose-driven existence. My time spent among spiritual leaders reinforced my strong spiritual foundation, instilling in me discipline and a meaningful life.'

PM Modi highlighted the numerous social initiatives undertaken by the RSS over the past century, positively impacting the lives of tribals, women, laborers, and youth.
