Jaipur, March 4 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, stated on Tuesday that Sambhar Lake, situated near Jaipur, possesses the potential to evolve into a significant tourist destination akin to Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch.
Recognizing the substantial involvement of both domestic and international tourists during the Sambhar Festival, he urged officials to enhance facilities and boost promotional efforts.
Chief Minister Sharma reiterated the state government's dedication to safeguarding Rajasthan’s cultural, religious, and historical heritage while simultaneously fostering its development.
He highlighted that Rajasthan has vast opportunities for religious and cultural tourism, which, paired with conservation initiatives, will elevate the tourism industry and create job prospects.
During a review meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence, Sharma remarked, “Our primary objective is to preserve our heritage while promoting progress. We are committed to restoring temples and encouraging religious tourism throughout the state.”
He also emphasized the necessity of educating the younger generation about Rajasthan’s rich historical and religious heritage, proposing that school students regularly visit notable monuments and sites.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the Sankalp Patra included plans to develop the Braj Chaurasi Circuit as a hub for devotional tourism. Consequently, tourism amenities are being established along the Braj Chaurasi Kos Parikrama Marg.
He stated that the development of Poonchri Ka Lotha Deeg alongside the Parikrama Marg should be expedited.
He instructed officials to finalize all processes for constructing Shri Gokul Jat Panorama, Raja Khemkaran Panorama, Dev Baba Panorama, and Govind Swami Panorama promptly and commence the projects.
The Chief Minister further directed the officials to enhance development at Tanot Mata Temple in Jaisalmer and ensure adequate arrangements for the accommodation of visiting devotees.
He remarked that efforts should be made to improve connectivity for Girduwala, Village Kuldhara, and Longewala with Jaisalmer and Tanot, alongside developing tourist facilities at these locations.
In a recent cabinet meeting in Prayagraj, a decision was made to renovate temples located outside the state.
He instructed the officials from the Devsthan Department to survey these temples, ascertain their actual number, and compile a list.
