Sandeep Dikshit Labels Kejriwal as 'Sanghi' Over Correspondence with RSS Leader

New Delhi, Jan 1 (NationPress) Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Wednesday criticized Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal for sending a letter to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, branding him as a 'Sanghi.'

Kejriwal's correspondence with the RSS chief raised concerns regarding the BJP's recent activities. He inquired whether the RSS endorses the BJP's alleged misconduct, which includes vote-buying through overt monetary distribution and extensive removal of Dalit and Purvanchali votes from electoral lists.

“Doesn’t the RSS feel that the BJP is weakening democracy?” Kejriwal questioned.

In a strong response, Dikshit informed IANS, “I don’t comprehend the relevance of this letter. A person addressing his own associates or writing to them indicates his affiliations. We have consistently asserted that Kejriwal has ties with the Sangh. For this, we apply the term 'Sanghi.'

Dikshit further stated that no Congress member or any leader opposing the RSS' ideology would engage in such correspondence.

“If someone has a grievance, they should address it to the BJP, not the Sangh. The necessity to write to the RSS arises because he has always perceived the 'Sangh' as aligned with him. It’s widely acknowledged that during the anti-corruption movement, the Sangh provided full support. Today, the true nature of Kejriwal has been revealed,” Dikshit remarked.

The Congress leader also criticized BJP Delhi State President Virendra Sachdeva's recent letter to Kejriwal, in which he accused the AAP leader of dishonesty, making false promises, and manipulating the sentiments of women, the elderly, and religious communities.

“The Congress party, particularly myself, has raised numerous questions regarding AAP and Kejriwal, yet he has never replied. Writing any letter to Kejriwal or challenging him to a debate is futile as he consistently evades situations that require him to confront the truth,” Dikshit added.

Dikshit also addressed Chief Minister Atishi's letter to Delhi L-G V.K. Saxena concerning the alleged demolition of various religious structures in Delhi.

“If the L-G asserts that there is no such issue, it indicates that the Chief Minister is unaware of the facts. She misrepresents the L-G and the Government of India and engages in deceptive politics,” Dikshit commented.

“The Government of India and the Delhi government will only collaborate when Kejriwal vacates the administration. The primary obstacle to Delhi's progress is Kejriwal himself,” he stated.

Dikshit further alleged that the AAP government is concerned about the impending elections.

“Why are they communicating through letters? They should engage in a face-to-face debate. When the ruling party announces initiatives but fails to execute them, it proves that these were false promises with no genuine intention of fulfillment,” he concluded.
