Hyderabad, May 15 (NationPress) The Saraswati Pushkaralu celebration has commenced near Kaleshwaram in the Bhupalpally district of Telangana.
Devotees have gathered to take a sacred dip at Triveni Sangamam, the confluence of the Godavari, Pranahita, and Saraswati rivers.
This marks the inaugural Saraswati Pushkaralu since the establishment of the state of Telangana.
Minister for Industries and Information Technology, D. Sridhar Babu, was among the first to partake in the holy dip with family.
“I feel incredibly blessed to have participated in the sacred Saraswati Pushkaralu at Triveni Sangamam in Kaleshwaram this morning. Witnessing the Godavari, Pranahita, and the hidden Saraswati unite at this sacred location is a deeply spiritual experience. Observing thousands of devotees gather with such dedication is both humbling and divine,” he shared on ‘X’.
“The initial holy dip by His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Madhavananda Saraswati ji significantly elevated the sanctity of the event. These 12 days of Pushkaralu, occurring from the 15th to the 26th, offer every soul a chance to reconnect with the divine. I extend an invitation to everyone to come, reflect, and receive blessings from Maa Saraswati,” he emphasized.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is set to officially inaugurate the Pushkaralu with the unveiling of Saraswati Ghat this evening. He, along with family and several ministers, will participate in the rituals, including the unveiling of a statue of Saraswati Devi.
The Endowment Department has made extensive preparations for the Saraswati Pushkaralu, an event celebrated once every 12 years.
This auspicious occasion is observed when Jupiter transitions into the Gemini zodiac sign, which happened at 10:35 p.m. on Wednesday.
The 12-day festival includes daily yagas from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Triveni Sangamam and Saraswati Navaratna Mala Harati from 6:45 a.m. to 7:35 a.m. each day at the Saraswati ghat. Cultural events are scheduled for the evenings.
Authorities anticipate that between 1 to 1.5 lakh devotees will attend the Pushkaralu daily. They have established temporary accommodations and made various arrangements for pilgrims.
The state government has allocated Rs 35 crore for the Pushkaralu. Authorities have built ghat structures and arranged for drinking water, sanitation, and parking. The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation is providing special bus services to Kaleshwaram from various locations in the state.
