In the early hours of Monday, the family of the missing youth approached the police, reporting that he had not returned from Hussain Sagar the previous night.
The missing individual has been identified as Ajay. On Monday morning, his mother and other relatives arrived at the lake, urging authorities to initiate a search for him.
Expert swimmers from the Disaster Response Force were deployed to assist in the search. Ajay, an engineering student hailing from Nagaram on the outskirts of the city, had informed his mother that he was at Tank Bund with friends.
His mother revealed that she spoke to him via phone around 8:30 p.m., and he mentioned he would come home after midnight.
However, when she attempted to reach him again around 11 p.m., his phone was off. She tried contacting him at midnight, but at 2 a.m., one of Ajay’s friends notified the family of his disappearance.
