Bengaluru, Nov 27 (NationPress) Security measures have been significantly heightened in the temple town of Udupi, Karnataka, in anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit and the planned roadshow.
On Friday, the Prime Minister will arrive in Udupi, prompting an increase in security throughout the city.
Preparations are finalized, and the city is adorned in saffron, reflecting the excitement to welcome the Prime Minister.
During his visit, Modi will tour the historic Sri Krishna Math. Prior to this, he will conduct a 20-minute roadshow from Bannanje to Kalsanka.
Public barricades have been established along the route to allow spectators to view the event.
Buntings and saffron flags line the roadshow path, with authorities anticipating a substantial crowd.
To ensure safety, over 3,000 police personnel have been deployed in Udupi. Two layers of barricades have been set up—one for police and the other for the public.
This marks Prime Minister Modi's first visit to the Sri Krishna Math since he took office.
The local administration, police, and district officials are finalizing their preparations.
Deployment includes 10 Superintendents of Police (SPs), 27 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs), 49 Police Inspectors, 127 Sub-Inspectors, 232 ASIs, 1,608 constables, 39 female officers, along with six platoons of the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) and six Quick Response Teams (QRT) across the coastal city.
The police will maintain a high level of vigilance and implement thorough monitoring during the roadshow.
Bomb squads are stationed along the route from the helipad to the Krishna Math, where the Prime Minister will travel.
A dog squad is conducting meticulous checks at each location. Enhanced surveillance is also set up at Adi Udupi, the Bannanje city bus stand, and the Krishna Math parking area.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Karnataka and Goa on November 28 (Friday). He will arrive at the Sri Krishna Math in Udupi around 11:30 a.m.
He will take part in the ‘Laksha Kantha Gita Parayana’, a devotional event featuring 100,000 attendees, including students, monks, scholars, and citizens, all reciting the Srimad Bhagavad Gita together.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Suvarna Teertha Mantapa in front of the Krishna sanctum and dedicate the ‘Kanaka Kavacha’ (golden cover) for the sacred ‘Kanakana Kindi’, a window through which saint Kanakadasa is believed to have received divine vision of Lord Krishna.
The Sri Krishna Matha, Udupi, was founded over 800 years ago by Madhvacharya, the pioneer of the Dvaita philosophy of Vedanta.
In honor of the Golden Jubilee of the Sannyasa Deeksha of Paryaya Sri Puttige Sripadaru, the inner Teertha Mantapa of Udupi’s Sri Krishna Math has been transformed into a Suvarna Teertha Mantapa.
This occasion also saw the consecration of the mantapa's pinnacle, performed by Sri Vishwapriya Teertha Sripadaru of Adamaru Math and Sri Sugunendra Teertha Sripadaru of Paryaya Puttige Math, who conducted the Kalashabhisheka and offered prayers.
