The entire area has been adorned with saffron and BJP flags, along with colorful buntings. Authorities anticipate a significant turnout at the events hosted by the Prime Minister, and comprehensive security measures have been put in place.
As per the latest updates, PM Modi will land at Mangaluru International Airport via a special flight at 10:30 a.m. From there, he will travel to Udupi in an Army helicopter. He is expected to arrive 20 minutes ahead of schedule, reaching Udupi at 10:55 a.m.
Before visiting the Sri Krishna Matha, PM Modi will participate in a roadshow, which will feature local and regional cultural groups. Preparations are underway to shower flowers on him along the route.
Three viewing areas have been established for the Prime Minister to enjoy the cultural presentations. In anticipation of the event, shops and businesses within a five-kilometer radius have been closed.
The Prime Minister will enter the Udupi Sri Krishna Matha via Rathabeedi and will first seek the darshan of Lord Krishna through the Kanakana Kindi. He will inaugurate the Golden Kanakana Kindi and visit the Kanakadasa shrine.
Upon entering the Matha, he will perform 'tirtha prokshane' (sprinkling of holy water) at the Madhva Sarovara, followed by a darshan of Lord Krishna. He will also inaugurate the Golden Tirtha Mantapa, meet with the heads of the Ashta Mutts, receive 'prasada', and visit the Geeta Mandira. He is scheduled to arrive at the Laksha Kanta Parayana platform by 12:10 p.m.
In anticipation of his visit to Udupi, PM Modi expressed his honor to join the Laksha Kantha Gita event in a statement on social media platform X.
He stated, "It is an honor for me to have the opportunity to visit the Udupi Sri Krishna Matha and participate in the Laksha Kantha Gita Parayana programme."
He emphasized the event's significance, noting that it unites diverse members of society for the recitation of the Gita. The Matha holds immense cultural importance, having been established over 800 years ago by Madhvacharya, the founder of the Advaita philosophy.
During this visit, Prime Minister Modi will also partake in the grand 'Laksha Kantha Gita' program, where one lakh participants will chant verses from the Bhagavad Gita in unison.
He will address the crowd following his visit to the temple. Before reaching the Math, he will host a roadshow from Bannanje to Kalsanka lasting about 20 minutes.
To ensure safety, over 3,000 police personnel have been positioned in and around Udupi. Two layers of barricades are in place: one for police and another for public access.
The security detail includes ten Superintendents of Police (SPs), 27 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs), 49 Police Inspectors, 127 Sub-Inspectors, 232 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), 1,608 constables, 39 women officers, six platoons of the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP), and six Quick Response Teams (QRT).
