Patna, April 24 (NationPress) Security has been extensively strengthened in Madhubani district as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to speak at a significant rally in Jhanjharpur -- marking his first public engagement since the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Following the attack on tourists in Pahalgam, authorities have implemented strict security protocols at the rally site and the surrounding areas.
Attendees will be prohibited from bringing water bottles, bags, or personal items. Entry will only be granted after meticulous screening, with all participants expected to arrive without any belongings.
Security measures have also been heightened in other sensitive regions across Bihar, including Rajgir, Bodh Gaya, and Patna, as well as along the Indo-Nepal border.
As a precautionary step -- and in honor of the victims of the recent attack -- the structure of the Prime Minister’s event has been significantly reduced. Organizers have announced that there will be no floral welcomes, garlands, or exchange of mementoes. Ceremonial drumming and celebratory music have also been canceled. A planned open jeep roadshow featuring PM Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been scrapped. The Prime Minister is expected to arrive, deliver his speech, and depart immediately.
Despite the reduced protocol, a large crowd has already begun to assemble at the venue, demonstrating strong public interest in the address. The rally holds considerable political weight ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections and is being closely scrutinized given the heightened security landscape.
The Prime Minister’s visit aligns with the celebrations of National Panchayati Raj Day. During the event, he will introduce developmental projects valued at Rs 13,480 crore and inaugurate a series of railway initiatives, including the launch of Amrit Bharat and Namo Bharat trains.
