Hyderabad, Aug 3 (NationPress) Six IT professionals were apprehended by the Prohibition and Excise Department of Telangana for allegedly using drugs at a birthday celebration held at a farmhouse in Moinabad, located near Hyderabad.

The individuals were discovered consuming LSD blots, hash oil, and alcohol during the late-night festivities, according to police reports from Sunday.

Prompted by a tip-off, the Telangana Excise Task Force executed a raid at the farmhouse, successfully seizing drugs and imported liquor.

Authorities confirmed that a drug screening was performed on party attendees, revealing that six techies tested positive. The confiscated drugs, which included LSD blots and hash oil, were valued at over Rs 2 lakh, along with three luxury vehicles belonging to the detained individuals.

Legal action has been initiated under pertinent sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against those caught using drugs, as well as the farmhouse manager.

A gathering had formed to celebrate a friend's birthday at the farmhouse in Moinabad, situated within the jurisdiction of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.

Authorities are currently searching for two suspects who organized the party and facilitated the drug supply; they managed to escape prior to the police's arrival.

Initial investigations indicated that the group had procured drugs from Himachal Pradesh specifically for the occasion. Officials suspect that the illicit substances were transported via informal channels.

Interrogations have also revealed that the accused collaborated to share the costs of purchasing drugs.

In addition to the three luxury vehicles seized, police are examining their ownership and potential links to the drug procurement network.

The excise department is actively investigating whether similar drug-infused parties are occurring in other areas within and around Hyderabad.

This incident marks the latest in a series of drug raids involving young IT professionals.

Earlier, on July 9, the newly established Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) dismantled a drug supply network operating from a restaurant in Kompally and arrested six suspects.

The restaurant owner, Surya Annamaneni, was apprehended for drug trafficking, along with five businessmen involved in managing restaurants, hotels, or pubs in the city.

Additionally, the sons of two senior police officials were arrested on charges of drug trafficking and usage. A total of nineteen suspects, including techies, doctors, upscale pub owners, and businessmen, were identified as part of the network.
