Indore, June 11 (NationPress) Senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya stated on Wednesday that the accused in the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, Sonam Raghuvanshi, has brought significant disgrace to the entire city of Indore.
Vijayvargiya, who hails from Indore, emphasized that such incidents should never occur as they negatively impact not only individuals or families but the broader community.
The Minister expressed his own feelings of shame when discussing Sonam Raghuvanshi, who allegedly murdered her spouse, Raja Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya.
As a public representative of Indore, he said, "I feel ashamed even to utter her name. She has brought disgrace to all of Indore," Vijayvargiya remarked at an event in Indore.
During the gathering, the BJP leader urged parents to impart essential life values to their children, warning that without this guidance, all their efforts in raising them could lead to a fate similar to that of Sonam Raghuvanshi.
"It's vital to teach children literacy, but equally important is instilling good values, or they may end up like Sonam Raghuvanshi, who has brought disgrace to Indore," he added.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also voiced his shock regarding the brutal and perplexing murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, calling the incident deeply troubling.
He noted that one grave mistake has not only ruined numerous lives but has also devastated several families, including those connected to the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi.
"This incident has hurt me immensely. It provides important lessons. When two families unite through marriage, careful attention to details is crucial. We must consider the implications of letting our children go so far," the Chief Minister remarked on Tuesday.
Sonam's brother, Govind Raghuvanshi, who rushed from Indore to Meghalaya, desperately seeking to bring his sister and brother-in-law back home when reports of their disappearance surfaced, expressed his heartbreak on Wednesday, stating, "Sonam deserves the death penalty."
After meeting with Raja Raghuvanshi's family in Indore, Govind declared that his family has resolved to completely boycott Sonam Raghuvanshi.
"We will entirely boycott her. No one will visit her. We will not assist in any court proceedings in Meghalaya. If she is found guilty, we hope she receives the death penalty for her crime," Govind, who was joined by Raja's brother Vipin, conveyed to reporters.
However, in response to questions about Sonam Raghuvanshi’s relationship with Raj Kushwaha, Govind expressed his lack of knowledge, stating, "I learned about it only through the media. Raj Kushwaha was merely an employee in our family business. All I know is that she used to tie a rakhi to him," he added.
