Bhopal, June 11 (NationPress) Reacting to the shocking news of Sonam Raghuvanshi's alleged role in the horrific murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated on Tuesday that it is a heart-wrenching incident.
The Chief Minister remarked that this occurrence serves as a valuable lesson for society, particularly for parents who arrange their children's marriages.
He expressed that a single error has not only ruined many lives but has also fractured numerous families, including those of Raja Raghuvanshi's killers.
"I am genuinely pained by this incident. It imparts numerous lessons. When two families unite through marriage, every detail requires careful consideration. The decision to allow our children to travel such distances must also be evaluated," the Chief Minister articulated in his remarks.
Following the emergence of news regarding the married couple, Sonam and Raja Raghuvanshi, Chief Minister Yadav reached out to Meghalaya's Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma, requesting assistance to locate the couple, who were on their honeymoon.
Subsequently, after Meghalaya Police discovered Raja Raghuvanshi's body in a ravine near the Weisawdong waterfall on June 2, family members raised concerns about the Meghalaya Police and administration. On June 7, CM Yadav consulted with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, advocating for a CBI investigation into the case.
However, when Meghalaya and Indore police apprehended Raja Raghuvanshi's murderers, including Raj Kushwaha, who is reportedly Sonam Raghuvanshi's boyfriend, early on Monday, the revelation of the circumstances surrounding Raja's death shocked not only the families involved but also the entire state of Madhya Pradesh.
Earlier on Tuesday, Indore’s Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Rajesh Dandotiya, informed reporters that four suspects have been detained in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case.
The suspects are identified as Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, Raj Singh Kushwaha, and Anand Singh Kurmi.
DCP Dandotiya confirmed that all four suspects are currently held at the Indore Police Commissionerate and will be transported to Shillong in Meghalaya following the completion of transit remand procedures later today.
Meanwhile, the Meghalaya Police had previously transported the prime suspect and the deceased's spouse, Sonam Raghuvanshi, to the Phulwari Sharif police station in Patna, Bihar, after securing a three-day transit remand.
According to law enforcement, Sonam Raghuvanshi was located near a dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur Road.
The Uttar Pradesh Police has placed Sonam Raghuvanshi in the Sakhi One Stop Centre in Ghazipur.
After the Meghalaya Police's arrival, she was taken for a medical examination at the district hospital.
