Ghazipur, June 9 (NationPress) — The Meghalaya Police reported on Monday that Sonam Raghuvanshi, who was arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur concerning the murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, in Meghalaya, surrendered under significant pressure. Alongside her, three other accomplices have also been apprehended, while one remains at large.
In a startling development regarding the mysterious death of Indore-based Raja during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, authorities confirmed the arrest of his wife, Sonam, for allegedly planning his murder with hired contract killers.
The Meghalaya Police indicated that Sonam, who was located in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur, surrendered under intense pressure at the Nandganj police station late on Sunday night.
"Sonam surrendered under pressure last night, increasing the total number of arrests in the case to four. One suspect is still evading capture. Sonam will be transported back to Meghalaya for legal proceedings," stated Meghalaya IGP Dalton P. Marak during a phone call with IANS.
