New Delhi, April 15 (NationPress) Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders Indrajeet Saroj and Ramji Lal Suman have ignited a controversy with their remarks concerning Muhammad Ghori and Mughal Emperor Babur’s DNA in Muslims, prompting strong backlash from political figures across various parties.
SP MLA Indrajeet Saroj sparked the discourse by stating, “If temples in India had influence, Muhammad Ghori would not have invaded and plundered the nation.” His statement faced intense criticism, particularly from the ruling BJP.
Furthermore, another SP Rajya Sabha MP, Ramji Lal Suman, made a series of provocative comments during an event at the party headquarters.
“If you claim Muslims possess Babur’s DNA, then inquire whose DNA you carry. You assert there’s a temple beneath every mosque; we’ll assert there’s a Buddhist monastery beneath every temple,” he remarked.
He also ridiculed the Karni Sena, stating, “We had knowledge of three forces – the Air Force, Army, and Navy. Now, a new force has emerged among us.”
Sanjay Nishad, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister and NISHAD Party leader, vehemently denounced these statements.
In a statement to IANS, Sanjay Nishad expressed: “They continue making such remarks, and whatever support they have left will vanish over time. I am unclear about the ambitions of the Samajwadi Party. However, no one will support the invaders. We are a liberated nation today due to the sacrifices made by many. The SP leaders might believe they are being clever, yet they are far removed from actual governance. They ought to speak within constitutional boundaries.”
Congress leader Ajay Rai also responded, calling for a shift in focus towards urgent national concerns.
“The nation is facing challenges such as inflation, unemployment, corruption, and failures in law and order. These are the real issues we must confront,” he stated.
Rai highlighted the inclusive essence of Sanatan Dharma and the necessity for unity.
“We are all religious individuals, and our faith teaches us to respect everyone. No religion or community should be disparaged. That is our strength. The BJP government is falling short on its employment promises. They pledged to create two crore jobs; where are those jobs?” he asked.
He concluded by stating, “Instead of making divisive remarks, we should demand accountability from the government for its failures, particularly in generating job opportunities.”
