Moradabad, Sep 13 (NationPress) Senior Samajwadi Party leader ST Hasan has criticized the spiritual leader Ramabhadracharya for his contentious remark referring to Western Uttar Pradesh as a “Mini Pakistan.” Hasan sarcastically remarked, “If they don’t make such statements, how will their spiritual shop run?”
In an interview with IANS, Hasan accused Ramabhadracharya of intentionally inciting fear and division within society with such provocative statements, all to benefit a particular political agenda.
“In Western Uttar Pradesh, Hindus and Muslims coexist like brothers, supporting each other in both joyous and sorrowful times. These remarks aim to polarize communities and sustain their so-called spiritual enterprise,” he stated.
Addressing the prevalent narrative that “Hindus are in danger,” Hasan challenged the validity of such assertions, questioning how they hold any weight when the government, military, and police are predominantly led by individuals from the Hindu community.
“Muslims have faith in Allah and maintain peaceful coexistence with their Hindu counterparts. Those who seek to divide society for personal or political advantage — can they truly be regarded as religious?” he questioned.
Hasan further stated that labeling Western UP as “Mini Pakistan” indirectly categorizes Muslims as terrorists, which he deemed dangerous and intolerable. He urged Ramabhadracharya to contemplate his words before speaking.
“We all understand the reasons behind the creation of Pakistan. Equating Indian Muslims or regions with Pakistan is an affront to the nation's unity. Such declarations only incite hatred and jeopardize the social fabric,” he added.
Hasan emphasized that Ramabhadracharya has earned significant respect in the country and should act accordingly. “This country belongs to everyone, and everyone has the right to live here,” he asserted.
He cautioned that remarks like “Mini Pakistan” sow seeds of hatred, impacting everyone, from children to the elderly, and yield no genuine advantages — only harm.
“Fostering an atmosphere of fear serves only those seeking political or personal gain. In the long run, society bears the brunt of such actions,” Hasan concluded.
