VHP Accuses Mehbooba Mufti of Targeting Shri Ram and Hindutva to Propel Her 'Shehzadi'

New Delhi, Dec 8 (NationPress) Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) spokesperson Vinod Bansal on Sunday criticized Iltija Mufti, the daughter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti, for her derogatory comments regarding Hindutva and Lord Ram. He accused the former Chief Minister of attempting to kickstart her political ambitions by undermining Hindu beliefs and Shri Ram.
Iltija Mufti shared a video on the social media platform X, where she stated, “Even Lord Ram would bow his head in helplessness and shame upon witnessing that minor Muslim children are being assaulted with chappals in his name merely for refusing to utter the name of Ram.”
She further labeled Hindutva as a disease that has “infected millions of Indians and defamed the name of the Lord.”
Bansal responded forcefully, saying, “It seems to be a trend in the opposition politics of our nation that whenever a politician introduces or reintroduces a new or unsuccessful agenda, they gain cheap popularity by targeting Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, Hindu beliefs, Hindutva, and Sanatan. Now, Mehbooba Mufti is attempting to launch her Shehzadi by attacking Shri Ram and Hindutva.
He condemned Iltija Mufti’s statements as a blatant effort to garner political advantage by assailing Hinduism and Lord Ram.
Bansal also noted that similar assaults on Hindu beliefs have been executed in the past by political figures, referencing the Congress party’s prior endeavors to target the saffron flag and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, as well as Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin's remarks about destroying Sanatan Dharma.
“The beloved (Sonia Gandhi) of Jihadis had to launch her prince (Rahul Gandhi) by ‘hanging Shri Ram’s head’ and declaring Hindutva a disease,” he added, also emphasizing the attacks on Hindu temples and minorities in Bangladesh while criticizing opposition leaders for their silence on these matters.
Bansal concluded by asserting that Hindus in India are tolerant but not passive. “They must not test our patience. We believe in democracy but know how to retaliate when necessary,” he warned political figures against further provocations.
The remarks have ignited a political discourse, with Iltija Mufti’s comments facing significant backlash from Hindu organizations.
