Chennai, Oct 28 (NationPress) Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin has unleashed a fierce critique on AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, charging him with “surrendering to Union Home Minister Amit Shah” and compromising the Dravidian legacy for political expediency.

During a dedicated training session at Mamallapuram for DMK members, aptly named “En Polling Station — Oru Vetriyana Polling Station” (My Polling Station — A Winning Polling Station), Stalin articulated that the forthcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election would serve as a “decisive battle to protect the state from the BJP-AIADMK alliance”.

“The 2021 election was a campaign to free Tamil Nadu from the grip of a subservient AIADMK faction. The 2026 elections will focus on defending our state from those who aim to corrupt and ruin it,” he asserted, expressing confidence that the DMK’s “Dravidian Model 2.0” government will triumph once more.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the AIADMK, which previously identified as a Dravidian party, has now entirely relinquished its political autonomy to the BJP.

“Edappadi Palaniswami has capitulated to Amit Shah. The AIADMK no longer represents Tamil Nadu’s interests — it merely parrots the sentiments from Delhi,” he accused.

Stalin also ridiculed Palaniswami’s attempts to create a broad opposition coalition, indicating that despite efforts to engage the DMDK, Left parties, and Congress, nobody was willing to collaborate with the AIADMK.

“He reached out to everyone — the VIPs, the Communists, the Congress — yet no one responded. That reflects their current standing,” he stated, adding that the people of Tamil Nadu “neither desire the AIADMK-BJP alliance nor trust their empty promises.”

Reiterating his party’s dedication to the principles of social justice, secularism, and state autonomy, Stalin remarked that the DMK’s administration has bolstered Tamil Nadu’s economy and welfare programs over the last five years.

“We have cultivated a thriving Tamil Nadu. The BJP-AIADMK coalition is intent on dismantling it. We will uproot them completely,” he concluded, inciting loud applause from party supporters.

Point of View

It's crucial to observe the growing rift in Tamil Nadu politics. With Stalin's accusations against Palaniswami highlighting the tensions between regional and national political interests, this situation warrants close scrutiny. The upcoming elections will undoubtedly shape the state's trajectory, making it essential for voters to remain informed and engaged.
