Patna, Feb 13 (NationPress) As Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav intensifies his criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections, he finds himself under fire from within his own family.
His youngest brother-in-law, Subhash Yadav, has made serious accusations, claiming that Lalu is protecting criminals and managing a political empire built on underhanded dealings related to kidnapping cases that occurred from the Chief Minister's residence between 1990 and 2005.
Subhash Yadav, a former Rajya Sabha MP and brother of Rabri Devi, asserted that during the rule of Lalu and Rabri, criminal matters like kidnappings were reportedly resolved at the Chief Minister's residence itself.
"In the 90s, Lalu Yadav orchestrated deals to secure the release of kidnapped individuals. Sadhu Yadav and I were wrongfully labeled as criminals. We committed no crime. After I distanced myself from him, Lalu’s decline began, and RJD dropped to 20 seats. This time, the party will again fall below 20 seats," he stated.
Subhash Yadav also implicated Mohammad Shahabuddin and businessman-politician Premchand Gupta, alleging that Lalu Prasad Yadav personally intervened in various criminal cases throughout Bihar.
"Who accepted money to resolve criminal matters? Everyone is aware. Now that Shahabuddin is deceased, the truth cannot be revealed. Phone calls were made from the Chief Minister’s residence to the kidnappers," he alleged.
Subhash Yadav defended himself and his elder brother Sadhu Yadav, stating they were unfairly blamed for Bihar’s “Jungle Raj” image.
"Why were we held responsible for Jungle Raj? Were we the Chief Ministers? We never seized anyone’s land, were never involved in any tar scam, and did not partake in the fodder scam, so why did Lalu tarnish our names?" he questioned.
He further contended that Lalu’s family has severed ties with him and mentioned that he no longer visits them due to a ban imposed by Lalu and Rabri.
Subhash Yadav went on to claim that Tejashwi Yadav's aspiration to become Chief Minister of Bihar would never materialize without his support.
"Tejashwi Yadav will not ascend to the Chief Ministership unless he receives his uncle’s blessings. Lalu Prasad’s dream is doomed to fail," he declared.
Subhash Yadav also took credit for Lalu Yadav’s rise, stating: "I was instrumental in his becoming Chief Minister."
In 1997, Subhash Yadav joined RJD to support his sister Rabri Devi after Lalu Prasad separated from Janata Dal to establish his own party. He was elected as a Rajya Sabha MP from RJD in 2004 and served until 2010.
In 2010, he resigned from RJD, cut ties with Lalu, and withdrew from active politics. He is currently focused on business ventures.
