Surat, March 20 (NationPress) The Surat International Airport in Gujarat has recently launched dedicated laptop workstations for its passengers, aiming to boost productivity among business travellers who often encounter waiting times prior to their flights.

Recognized as a significant hub for the diamond and textile sectors, Surat experiences a substantial influx of corporate travellers.

In light of this, the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, is committed to enhancing the airport's amenities to cater to business needs.

The newly set up workstations, which feature high-speed Wi-Fi and private seating, are accessible in both domestic and international terminals.

Officials from the airport stated that this initiative is designed to enable passengers to handle tasks such as emails and presentations while waiting for their flights.

One traveller, Vasu, shared, "The facility is excellent. My flight often gets delayed by 30 to 45 minutes, and I usually arrive early. I wanted a dedicated space to work on my laptop. You typically can't find such a place, but this one is available here."

Another passenger, Jagmohan Gupta, remarked, "We always seek a quiet area to work. During weekdays, we have office meetings and other responsibilities, but this location is truly conducive to productivity."

Alongside business-focused features, the airport has also enhanced passenger comfort provisions.

Affordable food and beverage options are now offered at the 'Udaan Yatri Cafe', and there is a designated play area for children.

Traveller Bhumi mentioned, "When flights are delayed, we can bring our kids here to spend some time. They can play without any issues. There are rides and other attractions for their enjoyment."

Airport Director Anand Sharma stated that this initiative aims to optimize the waiting time for passengers.

"To better serve corporate travellers, we don't want their time in the security hold area to be wasted. Our goal was to provide laptop workstations. We have set up two of these workstations in both the domestic and international sections to meet their needs and enhance productivity during their wait," he explained.

This development is part of a broader upgrade initiative under the 'Digital India' campaign, which includes the introduction of 'DigiYatra' and the installation of five new mobile charging stations.

Under the 'One Airport, One Product' scheme, Surat's Zardozi silk is also showcased within the airport to promote local products.

Officials indicated that these initiatives are designed to transform the airport into a business-friendly and passenger-oriented facility with state-of-the-art amenities.
