Patna, July 29 (NationPress) Former Bihar Health Minister and RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav has once again openly challenged the RJD leadership regarding the contentious remarks and threats allegedly made by party MLA Bhai Virendra aimed at a Panchayat Secretary from the Scheduled Caste-Tribe (SC/ST) community.
Taking to the social media platform X, Tej Pratap stated: "Will the RJD take appropriate action against its MLA Bhai Virendra, who made disgraceful remarks against the SC-ST community, which contradict the principles of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, and threatened to kill? I was ousted from the party due to a conspiracy by Jai Chands... Now, it remains to be seen if the party will demonstrate the same firmness against those who create disturbances. Respect for the Constitution should reflect in actions, not just in words."
This bold statement has ignited a new political uproar within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and has exposed underlying factional tensions and perceived biases within the organization.
Tej Pratap’s comments not only target Bhai Virendra but also implicitly critique the party's senior figures, including RJD chief Lalu Prasad and the Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, who are his father and brother, respectively.
By mentioning his expulsion and referencing "Jai Chands", Tej Pratap accused the leadership of hypocrisy, implying that discipline is enforced selectively.
The uproar surrounding Bhai Virendra's comments has triggered backlash on social media, with multiple Dalit organizations and civil rights groups condemning the remarks as anti-constitutional.
These groups have called for an unqualified apology and strict disciplinary measures against the MLA.
Following a threatening phone call from MLA Bhai Virendra, Panchayat Secretary Sandeep Kumar, stationed in the Maner block of Patna, filed a formal complaint against him at the SC and ST Police Station on Monday.
Kumar alleged that the four-time legislator threatened him during the call.
Bhai Virendra acknowledged the call's legitimacy but defended his conduct.
He admitted to using "harsh words" but claimed that the Panchayat Secretary disrespected him and failed to follow appropriate protocols.
