Patna, March 15 (NationPress) A widely shared video featuring Tej Pratap Yadav, the former Bihar minister and eldest son of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, has ignited significant controversy. In the footage, Tej Pratap, seated on a stage amidst Holi festivities, commands a police constable to dance while in uniform, stating: "Hey constable, hey Deepak, we will play a song, you have to dance. If you don’t, you will be suspended. Don’t mind, it’s Holi."

Tej Pratap Yadav celebrated Holi in Patna on Saturday, donning the iconic Kurta Far style as a nod to the legacy of Lalu Prasad Yadav.

This incident has drawn severe backlash from leaders within the NDA.

Sanjay Jha, the JDU Working President and Rajya Sabha MP, commented to IANS, "You can imagine the state of that party (RJD). The people of Bihar are watching everything."

Rajiv Ranjan, JDU Chief Spokesperson, remarked, "Earlier, RJD leaders would compel officers to prepare khaini (chewing tobacco), and now they are making them dance."

"Tej Pratap has forgotten that Bihar is no longer under his parents' Jungle Raj but under Nitish Kumar’s good governance. If RJD leaders treat security personnel this way, perhaps they don’t require security at all. If this continues, RJD won’t remain the main opposition party for long," stated Ranjan.

The BJP also criticized Tej Pratap Yadav over the video, accusing the RJD of perpetuating its historical Jungle Raj practices.

Kuntal Krishna, a BJP spokesperson, asserted, "Tej Pratap Yadav has behaved precisely in line with RJD’s culture. During the Jungle Raj of his parents, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, security personnel were subjected to similar indignities. In the past, RJD leaders coerced security officers to perform in a similar manner. Now, Tej Pratap is continuing that tradition."

This incident has exacerbated the political tensions between the RJD and NDA in Bihar, with ruling parties leveraging this event to scrutinize the RJD's governance ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The episode has reignited the debate on Jungle Raj versus Good Governance, with JDU targeting RJD’s historical misuse of governmental personnel.
