A man who allegedly blew the whistle on a police-protected sex racket was murdered for it. Now, RJD leader and Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has stepped in — writing a personal cheque of Rs 5 lakh for the children of Bunty Yadav, the slain activist, and demanding the Bihar government deliver justice on 6 August 2026.

What Tejashwi says happened to Bunty Yadav

In his post, Tejashwi describes Bunty Yadav as someone who exposed a sex racket allegedly operating under police protection and was killed for speaking out. 'अपराधियों ने निर्मम हत्या कर दी' — 'criminals carried out a brutal murder' — is how he characterises the killing. He says his party made contact with the family from day one and pledged support at every level.

The Rs 5 lakh cheque, he states, is specifically earmarked for the education and future of Bunty Yadav's children. The specific facts of the murder and the alleged sex racket have not been independently confirmed.

Four demands aimed at the Bihar government

Alongside the financial assistance, Tejashwi has issued a four-point demand to the state government: a government job for the bereaved family, a compensation of Rs 50 lakh, the immediate arrest of those responsible, and strict punishment for the guilty. The demands are pointed — each one targets a specific failure the opposition is implying: inadequate police action, no economic safety net for the family, and impunity for the accused.
