Patna, Aug 9 (NationPress) RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav made an emotional appeal to the women of Bihar, writing a heartfelt Rakshabandhan letter to the 'sisters of Bihar' and outlining an array of promises should the Mahagathbandhan secure a victory in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Through his message on social media platforms like X and Facebook, the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly conveyed festive greetings and encouraged women to symbolically tie a rakhi to him.
"My dear sisters of Bihar, first of all, heartfelt wishes to you on Rakshabandhan. As your brother, I ask you that after tying a rakhi to your brothers today, consider tying one in the name of your brother Tejashwi as well. While I may not reach every home, I am committed to developing policies for the welfare and safety of every sister. Your support is vital to implement these initiatives," Tejashwi expressed.
He highlighted key pledges under various proposed schemes such as the Beti (BETI) programme, which ensures comprehensive support from birth to employment, the Mai-Behan Maan Yojana offering Rs 2,500 monthly to women, a monthly pension of Rs 1,500 for widows, the elderly, and disabled women, subsidized LPG cylinders priced at Rs 500 each, 200 units of free electricity, residential coaching facilities for daughters, world-class sports training, job opportunities, free exam forms, travel assistance, and measures to prevent paper leaks.
Tejashwi criticized the Nitish government for allegedly recycling his past promises, which he claimed have remained unfulfilled for two decades.
He contrasted this with his own 17-month tenure, during which he claimed to have created numerous jobs, asserting that the word impossible does not exist in Bihar's vocabulary.
Tejashwi promised that if the Mahagathbandhan gains power, they would investigate the alleged Rs 70,000 crore scam and distribute the recovered funds as a 'Rakshabandhan shagun' to the women of the state.
In conclusion, Tejashwi urged women voters to dismiss the promises of hypocrites and back a government focused on positive, developmental, and women-centric initiatives.
