Hyderabad, June 18 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, has urged BrahMos Aerospace to enhance its operations in Hyderabad, offering full governmental support. A delegation from BrahMos Aerospace visited the Chief Minister at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Wednesday.

CM Revanth Reddy pledged that the state government would extend all necessary assistance for the company's expansion initiatives in Hyderabad and across Telangana. The delegation reacted positively to the Chief Minister's appeal.

Among those meeting the Chief Minister were BrahMos Aerospace MD and CEO Dr. Jaiteerth R. Joshi, BrahMos Hyderabad Executive Director Surampudi Sambasiva Prasad, and DRDL Director G.A. Srinivasa Murthy.

The Chief Minister highlighted the potential for establishing a Defence Corridor linking Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

As stated by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), he also informed the BrahMos Aerospace representatives about various defence organizations that have set up operations in Hyderabad, asserting that Telangana is the prime destination for investment in India.

Also present was D. Sridhar Babu, the State IT and Industries Minister.

The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile has demonstrated significant success in India’s recent Operation Sindoor against Pakistan.

This missile is designed to evade interception by current air defence systems across the globe, including those of China and Pakistan, capable of traveling 300 km in mere minutes and damaging runways effectively.

India has developed several variants of the BrahMos missile, including configurations for land-to-land, land-to-ship, and ship-to-land.

Reportedly, India and Russia are in talks to produce an advanced version of BrahMos.

BrahMos Aerospace is a collaborative venture between the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Joint Stock Company Military Industrial Consortium NPO Mashinostroyeniya (previously known as Federal State Unitary Enterprise NPOM of Russia).

The establishment of the company arose from an agreement ratified on February 12, 1998, between India and Russia.
