Telangana CM Claims FIR Against Rahul Gandhi is a BJP Distraction

Hyderabad, Dec 20 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, expressed on Friday that the First Information Report (FIR) lodged against the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is merely a diversion tactic orchestrated by the BJP.

He accused the BJP of initiating this FIR as a reaction to Rahul ji's defense of the legacy of Babasaheb B. R. Ambedkar.

“This FIR is a diversion tactic in response to Rahul ji protesting against the Union Home Minister's highly objectionable remarks regarding our beloved and revered icon, Dr Ambedkar,” stated the Chief Minister in a post on ‘X’.

“With 26 FIRs already filed against him, Rahul ji is committed to combating the divisive agenda of the BJP. Regrettably, the Delhi Police have not taken action against BJP leaders who physically assaulted our women MPs,” he further added.

In the meantime, the President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Y. S. Sharmila, has also claimed that the BJP is working hard to divert public attention from Amit Shah’s remarks concerning Ambedkar.

“The events that unfolded in Parliament on Thursday are evidence of this. The BJP and the RSS have consistently opposed Ambedkar. That is why they seek to obliterate the memories of Ambedkar,” said the Congress leader.

Sharmila insisted that they are demanding Amit Shah's resignation from the Union Cabinet and an apology for his comments, but the BJP has initiated a new drama instead.

In a post on ‘X’, she alleged that BJP MPs obstructed and pushed Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Priyanka Gandhi as they attempted to enter Parliament, resulting in Kharge falling during the scuffle.

“It is truly outrageous that BJP MPs, acting like rowdies, are wielding sticks and preventing Congress MPs from entering the House. They are the ones accusing Rahul Gandhi. Their conduct is a stain on democracy,” Sharmila remarked.

The APCC President pointed out that the Centre's orders to ‘X’ to remove the video of Amit Shah's comments about Ambedkar indicate that they have indeed made a mistake.

Alleging that the BJP's true sentiments regarding Ambedkar have been revealed through Amit Shah's comments, Sharmila stated that the BJP continually insults Ambedkar, a distinguished figure who drafted the Constitution and transformed the lives of millions of Dalits and marginalized individuals. The Congress party will persist in opposing the saffron mob to safeguard the Constitution authored by Ambedkar,” she concluded.
