Hyderabad, Nov 7 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed strong optimism that the Congress party will successfully secure the Jubilee Hills Assembly seat from BRS in the upcoming by-election.
During a press briefing, he stated that both Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would struggle to retain their deposits in the by-election scheduled for November 11.
Reddy urged the constituents to vote for the Congress candidate to facilitate uninterrupted development for Hyderabad and the state.
He encouraged the public to reflect on the state's development trajectory from 2004 to 2014 when Congress was in power, compared to the period from 2014 to 2023 under BRS and BJP.
Reddy asserted that Congress had handed over the state to K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) with a surplus budget of Rs 16,000 crore, while it returned to Congress burdened with a debt of Rs 8.11 lakh crore in 2023.
The Chief Minister emphasized that it was Congress that initiated vital projects for Hyderabad's growth across various sectors, including the new international airport, Hyderabad Metro, Outer Ring Road, knowledge centers, and advancements in the Information Technology and pharma sectors.
He condemned the BJP and BRS for denying Hyderabad the Information Technology and Investment Region (ITIR), which was sanctioned by the Congress-led UPA government.
Reddy criticized Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy and BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), labeling them as ‘bad brothers’ who hinder Hyderabad's progress by opposing key projects like Musi Riverfront development, Godavari water diversion, and the expansion of Hyderabad Metro.
He highlighted that during the floods in Hyderabad, Kishan Reddy did not secure any financial assistance from the Centre.
Reddy accused KCR of constructing the new Secretariat complex to address a supposed ‘vastu’ issue for his son's succession while the old building remained in good condition.
“What jobs have been created through the new secretariat complex? Who has benefited?” he questioned.
CM Revanth Reddy claimed that KCR built Pragathi Bhavan for personal gain and established a command and control center for monitoring political rivals and the media.
He pointed out that while KCR invested one lakh crore in the Kaleshwaram project, it collapsed within three years.

He accused the previous BRS government of selling the Outer Ring Road for merely Rs 7,000 crore, when it could have generated Rs 1 lakh crore in revenue.
Additionally, he alleged that BRS leaders have encroached upon 44 lakes in the Hyderabad region, asserting that while attempts are being made to clear these encroachments, BRS is politicizing the issue.
