Hyderabad, Feb 9 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged all southern states to come together to safeguard their rights.
He characterized the delimitation of assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies as a divisive matter, stating that southern states are being penalized for their success in implementing family planning and for their rapid development compared to northern states.
Speaking at the 'Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters' in Thiruvananthapuram, organized by the Malayalam daily Mathrubhumi, the Chief Minister expressed hope that southern states would collaborate to uphold the rights guaranteed by the Indian Constitution.
With Telangana's GDP currently around $200 billion, he mentioned the Congress government’s ambitious target of reaching $1 trillion by 2035.
Revanth Reddy accused the central government of neglecting all states, particularly those in the south and those governed by non-BJP parties.
Referring to the most recent Economic Survey by the central government, he pointed out that Telangana has the lowest inflation rate in the nation. According to the Global Artificial Intelligence (AI) usage report, Telangana leads in AI adoption and has the highest per capita income in India. He questioned why the Centre does not support Telangana in achieving these significant milestones.
Regarding the concept of ‘one country, one election’, he criticized it as a notion favoring a single individual and party, labeling it a covert agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He stated that Telangana Rising is not merely a slogan but the aspiration of four crore people in Telangana, aiming to make the state the finest not only in India but globally.
Revanth Reddy recounted that the Congress party was instrumental in forming a separate Telangana state, earning the admiration of the people towards then-party leader Sonia Gandhi for fulfilling their 60-year aspiration.
He alleged that the former BRS government failed to deliver on its promises during its decade in power.
The Chief Minister detailed that Telangana is segmented into three zones: Hyderabad Core Urban, Semi-Urban, and Rural Telangana. The core urban zone, situated within the 160-km Outer Ring Road (ORR), houses 1.2 crore residents and serves as a center for the software and pharmaceutical industries.
Revanth Reddy announced plans to convert the core urban area within the ORR into a 100% net zero service sector.
He asserted that the government is implementing various initiatives to position Hyderabad as the premier city globally, competing with major cities like New York, London, Singapore, Tokyo, and Seoul.
The government also intends to develop the Future City across 30,000 acres, envisioned to be the greenest, cleanest, and most advanced city in India, and to be recognized as the first net zero city.
He noted that the Young India Skill University and Young India Sports University are being established to benefit the youth.
Reflecting on his recent participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, he announced that Telangana attracted Rs. 1,82,000 crores in investments, with Rs. 40,000 crore received last year.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the Musi rejuvenation project aimed at restoring the environmental integrity of Hyderabad, as the government seeks to revitalize the polluted Musi river.
