Hyderabad, Jan 30 (NationPress) In a tragic incident, a young woman Constable succumbed to her life after enduring relentless harassment from two men, one of whom was a distant relative, in the Warangal district of Telangana. Anita, serving in the Armed Reserve division of the Warangal Police Commissionerate, tragically consumed pesticides at her home in Seethya Thanda, located in the Parvathagiri mandal, on January 27. Her family quickly rushed her to a hospital, but unfortunately, she could not be saved.

The police have initiated an investigation and have officially charged two individuals in connection with the case. The accused have been identified as Rajender, a distant relative, and Jabbar Lal, a classmate of Anita.

Initial investigations revealed that Rajender, hailing from Kommanapalli Thanda in Thorrur mandal of Mahabubabad district, had been promising to marry Anita for four years. During this time, he reportedly made frequent video calls while she was on duty, accusing her of engaging with other men. Distressed by his behavior, Anita confided in her parents, who then informed Rajender that they would not allow him to marry their daughter.

As time passed, Anita developed a close bond with her classmate Jabbar Lal. Upon learning of their plans to marry, Rajender became furious and sought revenge. He contacted Jabbar to disparage Anita, prompting Jabbar to also harass her, demanding money if she wished to marry him.

Feeling overwhelmed by the torment from both men, Anita reached out to Rajender on January 27, expressing that they had ruined her life and that she was contemplating suicide due to their actions. Rajender's indifferent response only intensified her distress.

After Anita's grievous action, her family lodged a complaint, leading the police to file charges against Rajender and Jabbar Lal. A police spokesperson confirmed that further investigations are underway.

Point of View

We must prioritize mental health support and ensure that individuals facing such challenges have access to help. It's vital to foster an environment where victims can speak out without fear of retribution.
