Hyderabad, July 7 (NationPress) In a deeply disturbing turn of events stemming from a failed romantic relationship, a young girl was reportedly stabbed to death by a young man, who subsequently attempted to take his own life, in Telangana’s Sangareddy district on Monday.
The tragic incident unfolded in Bandlaguda Balajinagar, close to Patancheru.
The assailant, known as Praveen, is said to have attacked the girl with a knife during a heated argument at her residence.
The victim, a degree student, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The attacker also tried to end his life using the same knife and was later taken to a hospital in Beeramguda, where he remains in critical condition.
It has been reported that Praveen and Ramya had a previous relationship. On the day of the incident, he visited her home to address a matter. During their conversation, a dispute arose, which escalated when he pulled out a knife he had brought.
Upon hearing the girl’s screams, nearby residents hurried to the scene. The assailant also inflicted wounds on himself and was subsequently transported to a medical facility.
The body of Ramya was discovered lying on a cot, surrounded by blood. Her family was left in utter shock and mourning following the heinous act.
A formal complaint has been filed at the Ramachandrapuram Police Station under the Cyberabad Commissionerate.
The victim’s remains were moved to the government hospital in Patancheru for an autopsy. A police spokesperson indicated that an investigation has been initiated.
In a separate incident within the same district, a nine-year-old girl tragically lost her life when a cloth became entangled around her neck. This occurred in Chitkul of Patancheru mandal.
According to authorities, the child was playing with a piece of cloth that she had draped over a ceiling fan during a power outage. When electricity was restored, the cloth ensnared her neck, leading to her choking.
No one else was present in the room during the incident. The entire village was left reeling from the tragedy.
