Gorakhpur, Nov 4 (NationPress) A man has been apprehended in Ludhiana for allegedly issuing death threats and verbally assaulting BJP MP and actor Ravi Kishan.
The suspect, Ajay Kumar Yadav, hails from Bagga Kalan in Ludhiana, Punjab, and has been remanded to custody by law enforcement.
While campaigning for the ongoing Bihar elections, Ravi Kishan filed a police report on November 1, claiming he received threatening calls and abusive messages that contained offensive comments about his family and religious values.
Following his complaint, an FIR was lodged at the Ramgarh Taal Police Station in Gorakhpur.
In a post shared on the social media platform X on October 31, Ravi Kishan elaborated on the threats he faced.
"I have recently been subjected to abusive phone calls where not only I but also my mother faced insults. I was threatened with death, and offensive remarks were directed towards Lord Shri Ram. This is an assault not only on my personal dignity but on our faith and Indian culture. Such actions are attempts to incite hatred and unrest, which we will counter with democratic and ideological strength," he stated.
Reinforcing his dedication to public service, Kishan remarked, "For me, the path of nationalism and righteousness is not merely a political tactic—it is a lifelong commitment. I will persist on this journey, regardless of the difficulties ahead. This battle is about protecting self-respect, faith, and duty, and I shall remain steadfast until the end."
Responding to the threats on Saturday, Ravi Kishan made it clear that such intimidation would not hinder his campaign efforts in Bihar.
"Jekar Nath Bholenath, U Anath Kaise Hoyi," (One who has Lord Shiva as his protector can never be abandoned), he proclaimed.
In a conversation with IANS, Ravi Kishan further stated, "Our adversaries are disheartened by their imminent defeat. They have insulted me and my mother, but I assure them that I will be present in Bihar and continue my campaigning. They can threaten me, but they cannot break my determination."
