Chennai, May 25 (NationPress) In a demonstration of support for India’s coastal communities and rich maritime legacy, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a symbolic boat rally endorsing Operation Sindoor on Sunday.
Despite the police's refusal to grant permission for a larger rally, the event proceeded in a limited area of the sea near the Kasimedu fishing harbor in Chennai. This initiative was orchestrated by Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary Sathish Kumar and spearheaded by the President of the Tamil Nadu BJP Fishermen Wing, Munusamy.
Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, National Co-Incharge for BJP Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, graced the rally as the chief guest, accompanied by notable party figures including BJP State Spokesperson ANS Prasad, Sports Wing President Amar Prasad, and North Chennai East District President NL Nagaraj.
In his address following the rally, Reddy stressed the BJP’s dedication to uplifting the fishing community and enhancing coastal security.
“Operation Sindoor represents our deep respect for the oceans and the communities reliant on them. The BJP is committed to collaborating with fishermen to safeguard their welfare and safety,” he remarked.
After the rally, BJP leaders and participants convened with fishermen and their families to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat radio program.
This session evolved into a dynamic discussion, where Reddy elaborated on various government schemes and initiatives emphasized by the Prime Minister, particularly those benefiting coastal and fishing communities.
Fishermen attending the event expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s commitment to India’s heritage, cultural unity, and economic upliftment.
Several attendees vowed to regularly tune in to Mann Ki Baat at home from now on.
“The Prime Minister speaks for every Indian, and his messages resonate profoundly with us,” stated one fisherman. “We feel acknowledged, heard, and respected.”
The event significantly enhanced the BJP’s grassroots connection with Tamil Nadu’s coastal populace, reaffirming its focus on community engagement and inclusive growth.
