Traffic Police and Truck Driver Prevent Major Catastrophe in Bihar's Saran

Patna, Dec 4 (NationPress) A major disaster was narrowly prevented on Wednesday close to the Chhapra bypass in Bihar's Saran district, attributed to the prompt actions of traffic police personnel and the truck operator.

The truck, which was transporting CNG cylinders, began to leak while traveling from Devendra Memorial Petrol Pump in Roza, Chhapra, to Chandni Fuel Station in Motihari.

The truck driver, Raju Ansari, noticed the CNG leak as the vehicle neared the Mehiya Over Bridge. He quickly halted the truck to avert a potential catastrophe.

The loud noise of the swift leakage triggered panic among local residents, who scattered in fear of an explosion.

The traffic police on duty rapidly managed the situation, evacuating individuals from the vicinity and stopping traffic on both sides of the road.

Nearby shops promptly turned off stoves and other possible ignition sources to mitigate the risk of an explosion.

Traffic remained halted until all gas from the leaking cylinder was safely released.

The Mufassil police station quickly notified the fire department regarding the situation.

Vishal Anand, SHO of Mufassil Police Station, verified that the truck was stopped as a precautionary measure.

"There was a CNG leak, but the leakage has ceased. As a precaution, this vehicle is still being held. Information regarding the incident is being gathered from the driver," stated Vishal Anand.

Raju Ansari mentioned that the gas leak was unexpected and potentially perilous, but he credited the joint efforts of the traffic police and local community in averting a disaster.

He emphasized that immediate safety protocols were initiated, including stopping traffic and ensuring no flames were ignited nearby.

"Gas began leaking suddenly. With the assistance of the traffic police and local individuals, we avoided an accident. My gratitude goes to the traffic police for their help," he expressed.
