Bhopal, April 24 (NationPress) One individual has tragically lost his life in an accident, while another remains unaccounted for, following the overturning of a truck carrying foreign liquor on Thursday. The incident occurred near the village of Kothri Kalan along the Bhopal-Indore highway, leading to a fire that engulfed the vehicle.

The individual still missing, known as Javed, has not yet been found, as reported by the truck's owner.

According to the truck owner, both Javed, who served as the driver, and his assistant, Nadeem, left Indore early on Thursday to deliver a consignment of liquor to Jabalpur.

Unfortunately, the truck met with an accident in the early hours, near Kothri village, and was soon consumed by flames.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Akash Amalkar informed IANS that investigations revealed Nadeem died from severe head injuries, not burns.

“It seems he may have exited the vehicle when it overturned and struck his head against the steel guardrails placed along the road to prevent local traffic,” the officer stated.

Initially assuming the deceased to be the driver Javed, authorities recovered the body and informed his family. However, Nadeem's family also arrived and identified him as the deceased. Meanwhile, Javed remains missing and has not responded to calls, with his mobile phone switched off.

The officer mentioned that it was initially believed the driver might have perished in the flames, but it's possible he fled to avoid legal repercussions. Search efforts for him have been escalated, and he is anticipated to be in police custody soon.

The truck, registered as MP 28 H 1489, was transporting a liquor consignment from Indore-Barwah to a warehouse in Jabalpur when the incident took place near Kothri village in Sehore district. Investigations confirmed both the driver and assistant were present in the truck at the time of the accident.
