Srinagar, May 21 (NationPress) A five-member delegation from the Trinamool Congress arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday for a three-day visit aimed at showing support to the local residents affected by cross-border shelling during the Pakistani forces' response to 'Operation Sindoor'.
The delegation features key members including the party's Rajya Sabha leader, Derek O’Brien MP, deputy leader Sagarika Ghosh, chief whip in Rajya Sabha Mohammad Nadimul Haque, upper house member Mamata Thakur, and West Bengal minister Manas Bhunia.
Additionally, the delegation plans to visit the family of Syed Adil Hussain, a local horse owner who tragically lost his life while protecting tourists during the April 22 Lashkar-e-Taiba attack on tourists in the Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam.
The delegation intends to present a letter of tribute along with a cash ex gratia relief cheque amounting to Rs 5 lakhs to the family of the deceased horse owner.
