Agartala, Feb 19 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, emphasized the significance of enhancing the Hindi language alongside regional dialects, asserting its crucial role in fostering communication and ensuring national unity.
As part of initiatives to bolster Hindi while honoring linguistic diversity, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has designated Agartala as the venue for the Joint Regional Official Language Conference (Rajbhasha Sammelan) for the Northern, Eastern, and North-Eastern regions.
The conference is scheduled to take place at the International Indoor Exhibition Centre in Hapania on Friday, where the Home Minister will officially open the event.
Saha remarked, “He envisions such national-level events hosted in Agartala. Representatives from the Northern, Eastern, and Northeastern regions have gathered here, and we eagerly anticipate the conference. The Home Minister will also address the audience,” he stated to the media.
Characterizing Hindi as a readily accessible and widely recognized language, the Chief Minister noted that a significant proportion of the population in Tripura can communicate effectively in Hindi.
“By prioritizing Hindi, we aim to unify the entire nation. Yet, everyone possesses their own language, all of which hold equal importance,” he added, highlighting that numerous Indian languages trace their origins back to Sanskrit.
Saha expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their endeavors in promoting linguistic unity.
On the subject of technology and innovation, Saha mentioned his attendance at the AI Impact Summit held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Wednesday.
He revealed that during the summit, he engaged with international delegates, Union Ministers, and Chief Ministers from various states on a range of topics.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is keenly interested in AI. In the future, all government departments are set to integrate artificial intelligence, which has also been incorporated into the recent budget,” he noted.
Expressing optimism for India’s technological progress, Saha stated, “I am confident that in the near future, India will establish itself as a global hub for AI. Artificial intelligence is essential for us all.”
