Agartala, Jan 7 (NationPress) In a significant operation targeting the smuggling of gold and financial misconduct, the Assam Rifles, alongside the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), confiscated gold biscuits and unaccounted Indian currency totaling Rs 21.87 crore in Tripura, as reported by officials on Wednesday.
A spokesman for the defense revealed that the operation was executed at Shantipara, situated in the heart of the capital city, and in Dhaleswar, on the city's outskirts, leading to the arrest of three individuals identified as Kunal Jaiswal, Ajay Naha, and Rakesh Das.
During this operation, authorities recovered gold biscuits weighing approximately 14 kg, valued around Rs 19 crore, alongside unaccounted Indian currency amounting to Rs 2.87 crore.
