Two Suspects in 80 Armed Robbery Cases Captured in Delhi Following Police Encounter

New Delhi, Dec 29 (NationPress) Two individuals sought in relation to 80 armed robbery cases spanning Delhi and Madhya Pradesh were apprehended on Sunday following a brief confrontation, as reported by officials.

The two men were identified as Rohit Kapoor from the Dwarka district and Rinku, associated with the Khyala police precinct in the capital.

Responding to a tip-off regarding the suspects' location, the police in West Delhi District mobilized their forces and successfully detained them.

Multiple teams were organized by the police to cover all potential paths where the suspects might be located.

Upon noticing suspicious behavior near the Cement Siding area of Madipur, Punjabi Bagh in the early morning, law enforcement instructed them to halt, yet they retaliated by firing upon the officers. The rounds struck the bullet-proof vests worn by the policemen, according to official statements.

The police returned fire, resulting in injuries to both suspects in the leg.

The injured suspects were immediately transported to a medical facility where they are currently receiving treatment, officials stated.

Earlier this week, a suspect was detained for robbery in Shahdara.

The arrested individual, identified as Nadeem, hails from Uttar Pradesh.

In a separate incident last week, a theft of Rs 8.5 lakh occurred in the Narela area of outer-north Delhi.

This robbery transpired while the victim, Vinay Tiwari, was heading to a bank to deposit the funds.

Tiwari reported that the thief used itching powder to incapacitate him during the crime.

Recently, law enforcement apprehended four individuals involved in the theft of Rs 18 lakh at gunpoint in the Hazrat Nizamuddin area.

On December 10, two armed robbers stole Rs 18.9 lakh from a man and his associate.

At the start of December, ten individuals were arrested in connection with a robbery amounting to Rs 90 lakh in Karol Bagh.

This incident occurred while two employees were transporting cash to another branch when they were targeted and robbed.
