US-manufactured bullet cartridges discovered at violence scene in Sambhal, UP

Sambhal, Dec 6 (NationPress) More than a week following the outbreak of violence in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district due to a court-mandated survey of a Mughal-era mosque, law enforcement officials have uncovered two bullet cartridges manufactured in the United States. A forensic team that was examining the violence scene in Sambhal on Thursday retrieved four empty cartridges, two of which are reported to be made in the US, according to police sources.

This discovery came just two days after authorities reported finding six empty cartridges in the same area, five of which were purportedly produced in Pakistan.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Krishan Kumar Vishnoi informed the press that the forensic team was investigating the site of the violence that erupted on November 24 in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

He stated, 'The four cartridges have been forwarded for forensic analysis.'

'Two of the recovered cartridges bear the inscription 'Made in the US'. All four cartridges are undergoing forensic examination,' he added.

The violence in Sambhal occurred on November 24 when officials conducted a survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid in the city. This incident transpired during the second phase of the survey, which was mandated by a local court.

The court ordered the survey following a petition asserting that the mosque was constructed by Mughal emperor Babur after demolishing a temple.

Four individuals lost their lives after a mob attacked the police and the survey team with stones. Numerous people, including law enforcement and administrative officials, sustained injuries during the turmoil.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday drew comparisons between Ayodhya, Sambhal, and Bangladesh.

'... 500 years ago, a general of Babur committed certain acts in Ayodhya, akin to what transpired in Sambhal, and what is currently unfolding in Bangladesh. The essence and DNA of all three situations are identical,' CM Yogi Adityanath remarked.

In response to Adityanath's comments, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav suggested that the Chief Minister ought to have his DNA tested before making such statements.
