Uttar Pradesh Ministers Extend Invitation to Sikkim Governor for Kumbh Mela

Gangtok, Jan 6 (NationPress) The government of Uttar Pradesh has officially invited Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur to attend the forthcoming Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, as reported by officials.
On Monday, two Ministers from Uttar Pradesh, Om Prakash Rajbhar and JPS Rathore, visited Gangtok and met with the Sikkim Governor at the Raj Bhavan.
Governor Mathur graciously welcomed the Ministers and presented them with traditional Khadas.
During their meeting, the Ministers conveyed a formal invitation on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, inviting the Sikkim Governor to participate in the Kumbh Mela, recognized as one of the largest and most sacred religious assemblies globally.
The Kumbh Mela attracts millions of followers who come to immerse in the holy rivers, seeking spiritual purification and blessings.
Governor Mathur accepted the invitation with appreciation.
The discussions also covered various developmental topics concerning both Uttar Pradesh and Sikkim, focusing on enhancing cooperation and mutual progress between the two states.
Recently, the Sikkim Raj Bhavan celebrated the 73rd birthday of Governor Om Prakash Mathur with great enthusiasm.
Notable attendees included Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, Sikkim Assembly Speaker Mingma Norbu Sherpa, and Rajasthan's Forest and Environment Minister Sanjay Sharma, along with various Ministers from the mountainous state.
The celebration began with a warm welcome address by former Rajasthan Minister Narayan Joshi, who extended heartfelt greetings to Governor Mathur and other dignitaries.
Chief Minister Tamang expressed his birthday wishes to Governor Mathur, acknowledging his steadfast commitment, visionary leadership, and years of service to the nation.
He praised the Governor's exemplary public service, marked by integrity, honesty, and extensive knowledge.
CM Tamang reminisced about Governor Om Prakash Mathur’s distinguished political path and his roles, including that of a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha.
He commended Governor Mathur's leadership in driving progress in Sikkim, especially in areas such as environmental conservation, education, and rural development.
