Vijay Diwas: Assam Rifles Hosts Half Marathon in Tripura

Agartala, Dec 15 (NationPress) One day prior to the 53rd anniversary of Vijay Diwas, the Assam Rifles held a Half Marathon in Agartala.
A spokesperson from the defense sector indicated that more than 600 participants from diverse backgrounds came together to commemorate this significant occasion, aimed at honoring the bravery and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

The Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs in Tripura, Tinku Roy, was the chief guest for the Half Marathon event.

Padma Shri award recipient and renowned gymnast Dipa Karmakar was present at the event, motivating all participants, especially young athletes, who regard her as a role model for dedication and excellence.
The event saw active participation from all demographics, including youth, women, children, and senior citizens.
After the marathon, several patriotic activities were conducted to inspire and foster a sense of belonging among the community, as mentioned by the defense spokesperson.
