What Progress Has Been Made in Geeta Colony? Responses to Delhi Government's Assertions

New Delhi, Dec 17 (NationPress) As the Assembly elections loom on the horizon for next year in Delhi, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party claims to have successfully honored its promises concerning development works. In contrast, opposition parties such as the BJP and Congress have dismissed these assertions as hollow.

In response to the claims made by the Delhi government, IANS reached out to the residents of Geeta Colony, which falls under the Krishna Nagar Assembly.

Local inhabitant Pramod expressed, “The Aam Aadmi Party MLA has constructed a road in the vicinity. However, the Municipal Councilor has neglected the cleaning of drains significantly. An informed voter understands the department jurisdiction.”

A resident named Saroj questioned the local MLA's effectiveness. She mentioned to IANS, “The MLA here has not accomplished anything. The Delhi government has failed to provide pensions to the elderly, and their current claims are merely a tamasha.”

Reena stated that no development work has been done by the local MLA. “We have approached the electricity department over the past two years, yet electricity remains unavailable in the slum. I hope for a change in government in Delhi during this election,” she remarked to IANS.

Ramesh, an elderly resident of Geeta Colony, is also dissatisfied with the local MLA's performance. He commented, “The MLA has not contributed anything for the area. The community members have never even seen him.”

Another elderly resident, Janki Devi, expressed her belief that the Delhi government has accomplished a lot for them. “My only wish is for the current government to continue its rule in Delhi,” she added.

Local resident Vinod Paswan commended the MLA. “The MLA has undertaken numerous development works here that have benefitted slum dwellers. However, the outcome of the elections will reveal who prevails,” he shared with IANS.

Devendra Mehta stated, “Our MLA has not been proactive, and we have yet to see him.”

Ashok Mahato remarked that the MLA has indeed made significant contributions to the area.
